RIP: Brooke McCarter, Paul the Vampire from The Lost Boys

Even a vampire can't live forever, Brooke McCarter, most notable as the vampire Paul from the 1987 classic THE LOST BOYS, passed away this morning at the age of 52. He died of liver failure at his home in Tampa, the result of a rare liver disease discovered earlier this year.

Said a representative:

He passed this morning, surrounded by close family and friends, including his daughter Kaitlin McCarter, age 12. He will be remembered as a talented actor and musician. He was beloved son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend.

Although he left Hollywood in 1998 to pursue his telecommunications career, he will forever be remembered as a piece of a classic film that has brought joy to legions of fans. Our hearts go out to him and his family, may he rest in peace.
