Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS sequel, ALIEN: PARADISE LOST, has settled on a production location. Deadline reports Australia is the stage on which the latest battle between man and xenomorph will take place. (Or whatever the hell the movie turns out to be about.) When the film will start production still isn’t clear, although first quarter of 2016 seems likely.
Generous tax incentives appear to be the main reason behind the decision, although there is no shortage of scenic landscapes for Scott and company to choose from. (Is the film set primarily in a desert? Perhaps near the water?) The Fox production will share the continent with THOR: RAGNOROK, which is also shooting Down Under around the same time.
ALIEN: PARADISE LOST will star Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and maybe Rebecca Ferguson and was written by Michael Green (GREEN LANTERN) and Jack Paglen (TRANSCENDENCE). The film is aiming to come out in 2017.
