Ridley Scott will be blasting off to shoot Prometheus 2 next

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

In an interview about his upcoming film THE MARTIAN, director Ridley Scott confirmed that his next film will be a follow-up to his ALIEN prequel PROMETHEUS. The article reads:

They faced another challenge when the film’s release date was brought forward. But according to [Matt] Damon, the typically fast-working Scott didn’t worry. "Ridley was done with the movie about two weeks after we shot!" he smiles. "I was already on to my next movie!" adds Scott. "I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is Prometheus 2."

The divisive but impactful sci-fi film, which starred Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, and Michael Fassbender, certainly left the doors open for a sequel, so it's exciting to finally hear that it's moving forward after three years of radio silence. There's no news yet if any cast members will be returning or any plot details, but rest assured that the second any information falls through the atmosphere, our sattelites will pick them up.

While your brain feverishly heats up with thoughts of mechanical C-sections, Engineers, and Xenomorphs, you can catch THE MARTIAN, which also stars Jessica Chastain and Kristen Wiig in theaters on October 2, 2015. It's not quite the same, but it might just cool you down enough to survive the long wait.
