Ridley Scott has once again given more details on what we can expect from the upcoming sequels to PROMETHEUS and the Harrison Ford-starring sci-fi classic BLADE RUNNER, this time opening up to MTV News while promoting his biblical epic EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS.

Scott was asked about whether PROMETHEUS 2 will continue to follow Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and David (Michael Fassbender) after the first film’s ending, and this is what he had to say:

“You have to. You can’t have a person go off into the galaxy and have a person who’s still got his head off. Once that head goes back on, he’s really dangerous, but he’s also very seductive. So maybe he’ll persuade her to help him put the head back.”

Of course David will. We've already seen how he is a master manipulator so I wouldn't be surprised to find him pulling Shaw's strings to get what he wants. Where this could lead remains to be seen as David's motivations are still largely a mystery.

Scott also talked a bit about the BLADE RUNNER sequel, confirming once again that the script is complete, but remained coy on the possibility of him actually directing the film although he has recently stated that we shouldn't rule that possibility out. One thing Scott does reveal is that Harrison Ford’s Deckard will not be involved in any voice-over narration, as he was in the original theatrical cut of BLADE RUNNER (later nixed in the Director's Cut). Scott shares…

“Harrison and I really get on rather well. I sent him (the script), and he said ‘That’s the best thing I’ve ever read.’ So it’s very relevant to what happened in the first one. I’m not just doing a sequel with lots of action and see how far we can with the special effects. Because you can’t really. With Blade Runner, we landed on a somehow very credible future. It’s very difficult to change that because it’s been so influential with everything else.”

Like it or not, we're getting a BLADE RUNNER sequel, but it certainly seems that Scott and company are on the right track with it. Who knows? This could be a worthwhile sequel that satifies fans of the original while introducing the futuristic world to a new generation of viewers.

We'll bring you more on PROMETHEUS 2 and the BLADE RUNNER sequel as we hear it.
