Ridley Scott is busy as can be doing the promotional tour for House of Gucci which is set to open this Wednesday but there are projects from his past that are still garnering attention. According to the veteran director, scripts for the TV spin-offs of Blade Runner and Alien are ready to go.
Scott was speaking with the radio news program Today, via “The Hollywood Reporter“, recently and that is when he revealed that development was well underway on the Blade Runner TV series and that it is being set for a 10-episode run. Scott said, “We have already written the pilot for Blade Runner and the bible, so we’re already presenting Blade Runner as a TV show probably the first 10 hours.”
If that wasn’t enough to get his fans going, Scott also confirmed that Alien is getting similar treatment. The director said, “Alien is now being written for pilot” and he added that the 8-10 hour bibe was also being put together for the project. An Alien series was first announced back in December when it was commissioned by FX. Noah Hawley, best known for bringing Fargo and Legion to the network, is attached as showrunner. As of this writing, there is no news about where Blade Runner is being set up to launch.
