I am by no means an authority on Justin Bieber, which means I can’t tell you about his thoughts or feelings. Does Justin Bieber really have an obession with 1996s FEAR starring Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon? So much so that he wants to remake it with him in the lead role? Let’s hope not. Just for the sake of audiences having to skip out on him pleasuring some actress on a rollercoaster while The Sundays cover of “Wild Horses” plays. Gross.
A source close to MovieWeb who happens to be working with the Bieber dropped this tidbit:
“We’ve been told that Bieber has been mulling over a number of feature ideas, and instead of looking to someone like Britney Spears for guidance in this department, he is looking to build off the career model of teeny bopper/rapper-turned-Oscar nominated actor Mark Wahlberg. And while Renaissance Man and The Basketball Diaries came first on his resume, its Marky Mark’s dark R rated thriller Fear that has caught the attention of Justin Bieber. There are currently no plans to remake Fear, released by Universal Pictures in 1996. But Justin Bieber is rumored to be obsessed with the movie…”
The tween wet dream wants to take on this role because he’s hoping that it will give him the same edge that it gave Wahlberg’s career.
The speculation goes on: “It is believed that Justin Bieber will pursue the rights to remaking Fear, using the film as his launching board into feature film acting. Though, its being speculated that this new Fear will most likely be tamed down for a PG-13 rating, and that it will closely resemble the thrillers and remakes currently being produced by Sony’s Screen Gems division.”
