Richard Madden teases more names to be announced for Marvel’s Eternals

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Richard Madden has come a long way since his days on GAME OF THRONES, becoming one of the most talked-about actors of the year and winning a Golden Globe for his performance in BODYGUARD. Now he’s leading his biggest project yet with Marvel’s ETERNALS, and alongside him is one of the series’ most impressive ensembles yet – including actors Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Brian Tyree Henry, Barry Keoghan, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington and more. Madden revealed there are more names we should keep an eye out for in the future, teasing he knows exactly who will be joining the massive movie.

The actor was receiving yet another award recently, this time from GQ as the Most Stylish Man of the Year. While he was being interviewed afterward he was asked about ETERNALS, and though he didn’t reveal any names at risk of the “Marvel snipers”  hanging about, he did say he “always get starstruck” by his big cast, and that “there’s some more actors yet to be announced in that lineup.”

When pressed further about if he knew who else we could expect, he playfully replied “Yes,” before stopping himself. Oh, Madden, you stylish tease.

Obviously, the speculation trains can start chugging as to who else will be named to the cast as production nears its start date. A little bit ago rumors started swirling that star Keanu Reeves was in talks for a role in ETERNALS, but as more casting information came out his name was never confirmed. Perhaps it’s being kept super-secret still, and it’s not worth Madden losing his head to mention.

Along with the big names above the movie stars Lia McHugh, Lauren Ridloff and Don Lee, the majority of whom are members of the immortal alien race, the Eternals, superpowered beings who come to Earth to fight back against their villainous counterparts, the Deviants. Harington has so far been cast as one of the lone human characters as Dane Whitman/Black Knight.

We do have to remember that the majority of the cast that's been announced are members of the Eternals, so there's a lot more to be announced in the way of non-Eternals, villians, etc. Who all will make up the rest of the cast is anyone's guess at this point, but I really don't want to imagine a world where roles are found for so many people, and yet Keanu Reeves goes without. Get him in there, you cowards!

ETERNALS is in theaters on November 6, 2020.
