Writer-director Rob Zombie's much-anticipated third (and final?) chapter in his Firefly Family saga, THREE FROM HELL started out in 2003 with HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and then seemingly ended with 2007's THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. But now we know that the trio of killers survived the last movie and will be raising ten types of Hell later this year. Or did they? Today Zombie shared an image of a new t-shirt which features Otis, Baby, and Richard Brake's Winslow Foxworth Coltrane aka Foxy as the 3 From Hell? Where's Sid Haig's, Captain Spaulding?
Zombie himself acknowledges the new image is rather confusing writing:
I am sure the image on this shirt will give you more questions than answers. It will all make sense when you see the film.
Lord knows what any of this means at this time, but you can be sure we will be there to find out when the movie hits later this year. Let the speculation begin! The flick has officially been slapped with an R-rating for "strong sadistic violence, language throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity, and drug use." The last time we saw the Firefly Family was in THE DEVIL'S REJECTS which began:
After a raid on the rural home of the psychopathic Firefly family, two members of the clan, Otis (Bill Moseley) and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), manage to flee the scene. Heading to a remote desert motel, the killers reunite with Baby's father, Capt. Spaulding (Sid Haig), who is equally demented and intent on maintaining their murder spree. While the trio continues to torment and kill various victims, the vengeful Sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe) slowly closes in on them.
While we don't know much about what THREE FROM HELL is about specifically, we do know that Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie), Otis B. Driftwood (Bill Moseley), and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) will be returning along with THE DEVIL'S REJECTS co-stars Danny Trejo as Rondo and Daniel Roebuck as Morris Green. Plus new additions Clint Howard, Richard Brake, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Emilio Rivera, David Ury, Dee Wallace, Pancho Moler, Austin Stoker, Tom Papa, Dot-Marie Jones, Richard Edson, Richard Riehle, Kevin Jackson, Billy Blair, Steven Michael Quezada, Bill Oberst Jr., Sylvia Jefferies, and Sean Whalen. And let's not forget the series of "bizarre cameos" Zombie promised including Barry Bostwick and Chaz Bono.
THREE FROM HELL is "almost finished." Lionsgate and Saban Films expect to release the flick in the early fall — September vicinity.
