It's been a busy week for Star Wars with both the domestic and international trailer for ROGUE ONE hitting, as well as John Williams announcing that he'd be returning to score music for EPISODE 8. The maestro stated that he'd be watching a cut of the film in a few weeks' time, and while most of us can put 2 and 2 together, that obviously means editing is underway. Director Rian Johnson posted the following to his Instagram account this week, so it looks like he's not wasting any time!
Day one!
Lucasfilm may have hit the ground running when it came to bringing THE FORCE AWAKENS and ROGUE ONE to the big screen, but now that things are settling down, it looks like they're going to have a lot more production time on upcoming STAR WARS projects. Rian Johnson and Co. have more than a year of post-production time to craft their film, which gives them A LOT of breathing room. Granted, I'm sure a lot of the time will be spent with ILM, crafting the special effects, but I feel very comfortable with the time they have to do it.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII will open in theaters on December 15, 2017.
