Revenge’s Emily VanCamp has the leading female role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Felicity Jones, Allison Brie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Emelia Clarke, Jessica Findlay Brown, Teresa Palmer and Imogen Poots were all rumored to be on a shortlist for the female leading role of Sharon Carter (niece of Peggy) in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. Guess who got it?

Emily VanCamp.

You’re telling me that out of all the above ladies that VanCamp came out on top? I’m starting to question if any of them actually tested because of this decision. Enough mean spirited comments, this young lady can be seen on ABC’s REVENGE. She was also on BROTHERS & SISTERS as well as the WB drama, EVERWOOD. I haven’t seen much of VanCamp so maybe she will be a great person for this part. Who knows?

The film takes us back on a journey with Cap who, “stumbles across an old ally long thought dead he uncovers many secrets S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) desperately sought to keep from him. Add in the nefarious Crossbones (Frank Grillo) acting on the orders of a larger threat and Captain America will need all the allies he can find to save his long lost friend.”

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and starring Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Emily VanCamp, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo and Toby Jones hits theaters April 4, 2014.
