REST STOP was the first film to be produced under Warner’s Raw Feed production line, geared toward us horror heads. Directed by John Shiban, the film gathered a lot of acclaim and now has a sequel shooting this month in Los Angeles.
After months of small casting news and vague synopsis’, the full details of the sequel, REST STOP 2, has finally been released.
Shawn Papzian is replacing John Shiban as director, though Shiban wrote the screenplay. It is being produced by John Shiban (Rest Stop, “Supernatural”), Tony Krantz (Otis, “24”) and Daniel Myrick (Believers, The Blair Witch Project). The production also scored some talent tech junkies with Jas Shelton shooting the film, Myke Michaels (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) doing make up and production designer Frank Bollinger.
The film stars Richard Tillman (Descendants of Eden), Jessie Ward (“Wicked, Wicked Games”), Graham Norris (The Jane Austen Book Club, The Black Dahlia), Brionne Davis (Holiday’s with Heather), and Steve Railsback (King of the Lost World), with Joey Mendicino coming back from the first film.
One year after running away from home, Nicole (Julie Mond) and Jesse (Joey Mendicino) are still missing. When Jesse’s brother, Tom (Richard Tillman), returns home from active duty, he sets out with his friends Marilyn (Jessie Ward) and Jared (Graham Norris) to locate the lost couple. Their search leads them to the stretch of old highway with a mysterious Rest Stop, where they find themselves in the same predicament as Nicole and Jesse: confronting the madman (Brionne Davis) driving the menacing yellow truck. As their search continues, a run-in with the ubiquitous Winnebago Family leads Marilyn and Jared to ghostly encounters with Nicole. Meanwhile, Tom is kidnapped and tortured by the psycho, but upon his escape he uses the arsenal at his disposal to take his revenge. But bullets alone may not be enough to stop this sociopath bent on death and dismemberment.
