Renée Zellweger took a bit of a hiatus from acting for a few years but has recently been making her way back into the spotlight, like being in the movie BRIDGET JONES’S BABY. Now she will become screen icon Judy Garland for the movie JUDY, and you can now get a full first look at the actress in the role.
The movie from Calamity Films, BBC Films, Pathé and Ingenious Media will find Zellweger’s Garland 30 years after her work in the hit movie, THE WIZARD OF OZ, as she performs what would be her final shows in London, taking place shortly before her death. You can see the image of the actress as Garland below, singing what I can assume is a warm melody into the microphone.

Here is a more detailed plot synopsis:
It is 30 years since she shot to global stardom in THE WIZARD OF OZ, but if her voice has weakened, its dramatic intensity has only grown. As she prepares for the show, battles with management, charms musicians, and reminisces with friends and adoring fans, her wit and warmth shine through. Even her dreams of romance seem undimmed as she embarks on a courtship with Mickey Deans, her soon-to-be fifth husband. And yet Judy is fragile. After working for 45 of her 47 years, she is exhausted; haunted by memories of a childhood lost to Hollywood; gripped by a desire to be back home with her kids. Will she have the strength to go on?
The movie is directed by Rupert Goold (KING CHARLES III) with a script by Tom Edge (THE CROWN). JUDY also stars Jessie Buckley (WAR AND PEACE), Finn Wittrock (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) and Michael Gambon (HARRY POTTER, THE KING’S SPEECH) and will feature such Garland hits as “Over the Rainbow” from OZ. What? You think she's just gonna not play the hits?
