Release of A Quiet Place Part II has been delayed due to Coronavirus

With theatres across Europe and Asia closing down in an effort to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, Paramount Pictures has decided to delay the release of A QUIET PLACE PART II. The film had been scheduled to reach theatres next weekend.

Earlier this morning, Deadline caught word that UK exhibitors had been notified that A QUIET PLACE PART II would be shifting out of its March 19th UK release date. Writer/director John Krasinski has since taken to social media to confirm that the release is being delayed worldwide.

A new release date has not yet been announced.

A QUIET PLACE PART II stars returning A QUIET PLACE cast members Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, with Krasinski also making an appearance. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou are new additions to the cast. The film has the following synopsis:

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Paramount isn't the only studio altering their release schedule due to the Coronavirus. MGM and Universal decided to push the James Bond film NO TIME TO DIE from April to November, and Sony moved the family film PETER RABBIT 2 from March to August.
