A bunch of upcoming movies have announced release dates or changed dates to better position themselves in the coming years.

Harmony Korine’s bizarre SPRING BREAKERS, which is sure to be controversial, has gotten picked up by Annapurna Pictures which will release it theatrically in Spring 2013.

Plot: SPRING BREAKERS tells the story of four sexy college girls as they plan to fund their spring break getaway by robbing a fast food joint. But that’s only the beginning… At a motel room rager, fun reaches its legal limit and the girls are arrested and taken to jail. Hungover and clad only in bikinis, the girls appear before a judge but are bailed out unexpectedly by Alien (James Franco), an infamous local thug and amateur rapper who takes them under his wing and leads them on the wildest Spring Break trip in history. `Rough on the outside but with a soft soul on the inside, Alien wins over the hearts and dreams of the young SpringBreakers, and leads them on a Spring Break they never could have imagined.

James Franco with cornrows and gold teeth makes this a must watch. This just looks batshit crazy.

Also getting a more concrete date is the Eli Roth produced sequel, THE LAST EXORCISM II. So, therefore, the first film was clearly not the last, making this one of the dumbest titles of all time. Here is the first official image from the movie.

Plot: Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found alone and terrified in the woods. Back in the relative safety of civilization, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean herlast exorcism was just the beginning.

Directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly, THE LAST EXORCISM II will be releaed on March 1, 2013.

Other films with new release dates are HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2, which will hit theaters on September 25, 2015, POPEYE on September 26, 2014, and Tom Cruise’s ALL YOU NEED IS KILL moves a week early to March 7, 2014.
