This is for those of you who, while at Halloween parties over the last few day, found yourself at a loss for new movie knowledge with which to impress the ladies and/or gents. Let’s change that, shall we?
OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, the other White House Under Siege project in the works right now, will arrive on April 4th, 2013. Directed by Antoine Fuqua rather than Roland Emmerich, it stars Gerard Butler rather than Channing Tatum, Aaron Eckhart rather than Jamie Foxx, and arrives several months before WHITE HOUSE DOWN hits on June 28th, 2013. I just love the smell of rushed competition in the early morning.
ZERO DARK THIRTY, the Osama Bin Laden manhunt film that manages to still look good despite the fair chance that more than a few serious dramatic liberties will be taken, maintains its limited release date of December 19th but will now go wide on January 11th, 2013.
THE GUILT TRIP, the Seth Rogan/Barbra Streisand “hahaha Jewish moms are funny” road trip movie, has been moved up from December 25th to release one week earlier on December 19th. So some fun counter-programming there for those of you looking to bond with a mother over something other than the death of Bin Laden.
STAND UP GUYS, the Alan Arkin/Christopher Walken/Al Pacino buddy heist movie that can’t quite seem to decide what kind of movie it wants to market itself as, has gone the opposite way and been pushed back from January 11th, 2013 to February 1st, 2013.
