I watched Norwegian writer/director Reinert Kiil's Christmas slasher CHRISTMAS BLOOD a couple months ago, and I wasn't very fond of it. I gave it a 5/10 score in my review. Kiil has another movie coming out next month, and I hope to enjoy this one more than I did CHRISTMAS BLOOD.
Artsploitation Films will be releasing Kiil's World War II horror movie THE HOUSE on DVD on March 5th, and you can pre-order a copy at THIS LINK.
Described as a "creepy, thought-provoking ghost story", THE HOUSE is set in
the frozen wilderness of Norway during WWII, 2 German soldiers escort a Norwegian soldier and prisoner of war but the weather is taking a toll on them. They find an empty house near the forest where they finally can get some rest. However, what seems to be a warm and welcoming shelter turns much more sinister and deadly. They begin to wonder if they have somehow have stepped into a sort of psychological hell from which there may be no escape.
Special features on the DVD will include
– The Voice of One's Conscience (Samvittighetens Røst) (2007, 12 minutes), a short film directed by Reinert Kiil
– Commentary with director Reinert Kiil
If you're not up for checking out those special features, the movie will also be available for viewing on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu, and more.
