When REDACTED premiered at the Venice Film Festival, it won Brian De Palma the Silver Lion award for best director, which is a tad surprising, because a) De Palma hasn’t been able to recapture the form of his glory days, and b) because I’ve read some scathing reviews of the film.
The film is essentially a dramatization of the real-life rape and murder and of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl by U.S. troops, who killed her sister and parents as well. I can’t believe I haven’t heard about such a heinous story on the news. Maybe that’s what happens when the only thing you care about is whether Lauren and Heidi will be friends again on THE HILLS. Either way, we’ve got the poster for you right here, which you can check out BELOW. It isn’t anything special, but it certainly gives off that “docudrama” feel. You can see the film for yourself in November.
