Ready Player One Blu-ray street date & special features announced

For all of you guys out there that missed Steven Spielberg's READY PLAYER ONE in theaters, no worries as today we have word that the film will be hitting Digital HD on July 3 and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD July 24.

The Blu-ray editions will come with a bunch of special features including featurettes such as "Game Changer: Cracking the Code", "Effects for a Brave New World", "Ernie & Tye's Excellent Adventure", and something that sounds like it could be a lot of fun called "The '80’s: You’re The Inspiration". The film is directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline based on the novel by Cline, which begins:

In the year 2045, where the real world is a harsh place. The only time Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) truly feels alive is when he escapes to the OASIS, an immersive virtual universe where most of humanity spend their days.
