It’s been a long time since we got on board the RE-ANIMATOR train. However, it hasn’t been long at all since we last rode the remake train. Hence, I find it fitting to combine them both for today’s article.
First off, for those who have always longed for a continuation of the original Jeffrey Combs-starring series, you may not like what I write next. Yes, it seems that RE-ANIMATOR is also on its way to the remake factory. At least, according to Ray Haboush, owner of Halcyon International Pictures, it is. Mr. Haboush is developing a redo of Stuart Gordon’s 1985 classic alongside Brian Yuzna, producer of the original and director of BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR and BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR.
Now, here’s the kicker: Haboush and Yuzna are actually looking to deliver this re-animated remake in 3D! Well, it did work for MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D. I could see the new Real D technology adding some kick-ass life to the workings of Dr. Herbert West. The only question is, will they look to Jeffrey Combs to reprise his role?
