The situation around Ray Fisher's claims against Joss Whedon and the subsequent investigation by Warner Bros. about alleged behavior on the JUSTICE LEAGUE set continues to get angrier. Fisher isn't backing down on his claims and now he's saying that Warner Bros. released headline-grabbing stories to distract from his accusations against them.
The alleged tactic is similar to the one that his JUSTICE LEAGUE co-star, Jason Momoa, says was Warner Bros. sneaky way to push Fisher's accusations off the news cycle. In that situation, where Momoa posted an Instagram post in support of Fisher, the actor says that the announcement of the existence of a Frosty the Snowman project with him attached to star was entirely false. Momoa also affirmed that they as a cast were subjected to mistreatment, and not just Fisher. The Cyborg actor has since backed up these claims, highlighting another instance that Warner Bros. used their news as a distraction.
In a recent tweet, Ray Fisher claimed that news surrounding Ben Affleck returning as Batman in THE FLASH was used as another diversion tactic by Warner Bros. Fisher claims that this news was originally planned to be revealed during DC FanDome, but was pushed forward to over suppress Fisher's statements. You can check out Fisher's tweet below:
In the two images featured in the tweet, the date and time of Fisher's statement coinciding with the announcement surrounding Ben Affleck returning as Batman are highlighted. The initial Twitter statement from Ray Fisher is timestamped at 1:38 PM on August 20, 2020. The announcement of Ben Affleck returning as Batman is timestamped less than an hour and a half later at 3:02 PM on August 20, 2020. This could mean that Fisher is either very paranoid or that Warner Bros. did release the Batman info early in order to drown out Fisher's accusations against them. It's still so hard to determine what the real story is here but Fisher's claims did gain more traction when Jason Momoa publicly defended him as well stating some unjust behavior DID go on during the JUSTICE LEAGUE reshoots and Fisher wasn't the only victim of it.
As of today, Ray Fisher continues to lay into Warner Bros. for their perceived mishandling of his allegations of abuse against Joss Whedon. In his latest post, which was an Instagram interview with his fans, Fisher revealed that DC Films president Walter Hamada had strong words of criticism for Whedon and his take on the JUSTICE LEAGUE reshoots:
"Walter Hamada did throw Joss Whedon and Jon Berg under the bus. A conversation wherein he did claim that Joss Whedon was an asshole, that he never planned on hiring and that did not fit his vision for the future of DC Films. Quote me on that. If it's not true, Walter, go ahead and sue me on that."
With this shot at Hamada, Fisher has continued to involve not just Whedon but the entire WarnerMedia company in the matter. It remains to be seen how they will react to these latest accusations but I do know that this drama is about ten times better than the actual JUSTICE LEAGUE film. Who is going to come out on top? Only time will tell…
Do YOU think Warner Bros. released the Ben Affleck Batman story to distract from Ray Fisher's claims?
