Ray Fisher has thrown down the gauntlet. After a much-publicized feud regarding Joss Whedon's behavior during Justice League reshoots, Fisher has upped the ante and firmly stated he refuses to appear in any Warner Bros. projects while Walter Hamada remains President of DC Films.
“Walter Hamada is the most dangerous kind of enabler,” Fisher tweeted on Wednesday. “He lies, and WB PR’s failed Sept. 4th hit-piece, sought to undermine the very real issues of the ‘Justice League’ investigation. I will not participate in any production associated with him.”
Fisher planting his "fuck you" flag firmly in the ground comes not long after the evening of December 11th, when WarnerMedia released a statement saying the Justice League investigation was a wrap. While the studio insisted that "remedial action" had been taken, they failed to provide proof of any disciplinary measures actually taking place.
Fisher first announced his accusations to the public in July, to which WarnerMedia responded by launching an investigation in August. Fisher, who has been quick to share any and all developments related to the situation, published the following statement from WB after the investigation was concluded: “WarnerMedia appreciates you having the courage to come forward and assist the company with creating an inclusive and equitable work environment for its employees and partners.” Dissatisfied with the result, Fisher added, “There are still conversations that need to be had and resolutions that need to be found.”
Given today's news, it appears as if Fisher has zero interest in working with Warner Bros. so long as Hamada is steering the ship. Meanwhile, Fisher will play Cyborg in Zack Snyder's Justice League when the long-awaited four-part presentation reaches HBO Max in March.
