Last October, we shared the news that Battle of the Damned director Christopher Hatton‘s mystery horror / supernatural thriller Raven’s Hollow, which stars William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia) as Edgar Allan Poe, had landed a distribution deal with the Shudder streaming service. Shudder has now announced that they’ll be releasing Raven’s Hollow on September 22nd – and along with that announcement comes the unveiling of a trailer for the film, which you can watch in the embed above.
Inspired by Poe’s mysterious exit from the Military Academy at West Point, Raven’s Hollow is set in the fall of 1830 and has the following synopsis:
West Point military Cadet Edgar Allan Poe and four other cadets on a training exercise in upstate New York come upon a man eviscerated on a bizarre wooden rack. His dying words direct them to a forgotten community, which they believe is guarding sinister secrets. Enthralled by the Innkeeper’s beautiful and mysterious daughter Charlotte and fuelled by the town resident’s refusal to speak to the murder, Poe determines to uncover the truth. Risking his life and more, Poe ultimately comes face to face with the terror that will haunt him forever.
Moseley is joined in the cast by Melanie Zanetti (Love and Monsters), Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones), David Hayman (Fisherman’s Friends), Oberon K. A. Adjepong (The Dark Tower), and Callum Woodhouse (All Creatures Great and Small).
Produced by Caroline Stern, MD of Canoe Film, Andrejs Ekis of Cinevilla Studios, and Todd Lundbohm and Mark Andrews of 828 Media Capital, Raven’s Hollow was filmed at Cinevilla Studios in Latvia. Hatton directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Chuck Reeves.
