Sylvester Stallone continues to tell pieces of the RAMBO: LAST BLOOD story through images posted to his Instagram account. As we already know, the screenplay written by Stallone and Matt Cirulnick is about what happens when our hero John Rambo,
who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S./Mexico border to help find the kidnapped daughter of one of his close friends. He quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
The latest images shared by Stallone dig deeper into that story, first showing us a shot of Rambo hanging out with a young girl named Gabrielle (Yvette Monreal), who is the granddaughter of his friend Maria (Adriana Barraza) and a character Stallone describes as Rambo's "adopted daughter".
In other images we see Gabrielle caught up in what looks to be a human trafficking situation, while Rambo tracks her through Mexico, trying to get information on her whereabouts. It's a trail that leads him to the film's villains – with one of them being Óscar Jaenada as Victor Martinez, who is featured in one of the pictures.
Directed by Adrian Grunberg, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD also stars Paz Vega as Carmen Delgado, "a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped"; Sergio Peris-Mencheta as villainous cartel leader Hugo Martinez; and, in an unspecified role, Joaquin Cosio.
RAMBO: LAST BLOOD will be reaching theatres on September 20th, and I'll be seeing it.
