The Witch Ralph Ineson

THE WITCH was a breakthrough film for Anya Taylor-Joy, who has been getting some high profile work over the last few years since THE WITCH was released. Less attention has been directed toward the actors who played her parents in that film, Ralph Ineson and Katie Dickie, but both of them have been working quite steadily, even if you didn't realize it – like I didn't notice that both of them appeared in STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.

Ineson has also had roles in the recent releases THE HURRICANE HEIST and READY PLAYER ONE that passed me by, but now he has signed on to take a role in a film I'm sure to see him in: THE BOY 2, director William Brent Bell's sequel to his 2016 film THE BOY.

Maybe I shouldn't admit that I'll be paying closer attention to a sequel about Brahms the creepy doll than I did to an extravaganza directed by Steven Spielberg, but it's the truth.

Ineson's THE BOY 2 co-stars will include Katie Holmes as Liza, Christopher Convery as her son Jude, and Owain Yeoman as her husband Sean. Ineson's character name is Joseph, but it's not clear how he fits into the story.

Written by THE BOY screenwriter Stacey Menear, THE BOY 2 has the following synopsis:

Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.

THE BOY 2 is being produced by Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, Eric Reid, Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa, and Roy Lee. Filming is expected to begin in Victoria, British Columbia on January 14th.
