Radius has acquired U.S. rights to horror vehicle IT FOLLOWS, starring Maika Monroe, after it screened in Cannes as part of Critics Week, according to Variety.
The movie, directed by David Robert Mitchell (THE MYTH OF THE AMERICAN SLEEPOVER) from his own script, centers on a teenager plagued by disturbing visions and the inescapable sense that something is following her after a sexual encounter.
“For 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe), the fall should be about school, boys and weekends at the lake. Yet after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.”
Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi and Lili Sepe all star. Radius is planning a first quarter of 2015 release.
The early buzz on this one is pretty good, folks, so this could be a flick worth keeping an eye out for.
