Radio Silence teams with Lord and Miller for horror comedy

Ready or Not Samara Weaving Radio Silence

The horror-comedy READY OR NOT, from the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence (directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with executive producer Chad Villella), was one of the year's best and most popular genre films, so I'm glad to hear that they're going right back to work on another horror-comedy. This one doesn't have a title yet, but it is known that Radio Silence will be teaming with the filmmaking duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller on it.

Lord and Miller will be producing the film, which is described as "a unique bear-driven horror-comedy — with heart." Lord and Miller's previous credits include 21 JUMP STREET, 22 JUMP STREET, and THE LEGO MOVIE.

The screenplay for this project has been written by Jimmy Warden, who worked as a production assistant on 21 JUMP STREET. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but The Hollywood Reporter has heard that

the project was being pitched as a cross between GOOD BOYS — Universal's raunchy but sweet feature about three 10-year-olds on an adult adventure — and THE REVENANT — the Oscar-winning gritty survival tale that starred Leonardo DiCaprio as a fur trapper who, at one point, was mauled by a Grizzly bear.

So maybe it's about young kids getting chased by a bloodthirsty bear. That could be awesome.

Aditya Sood will also be producing the film, as will Brian Duffield – who happened to write THE BABYSITTER, which starred READY OR NOT's Samara Weaving. The project is set up at Universal, and Matt Reilly and Christine Sun will be overseeing for the studio.
