Whether it was with family or friends, most of us have experienced a game night at some point in our lives. Sometimes they're a tedious bore full of drunken arguments and other times they're quite a lot of fun, but I'd imagine that very few of those game nights you've experienced have ended in a murderous fashion. If they have, well then, shit, you've led a more exciting life than I.
New Line Cinema is currently developing GAME NIGHT, an upcoming comedy which will follow "a group of couples who gather for their regularly planned game night when something goes murderously wrong." The flick will be written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING) and is set to star Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. Both funny people to be sure, but this feels like the type of lazy comedy which expects to coast by on the strength of its stars and not much else. I'm prepared to be surprised however, especially if they bust out Cards Against Humanity.
Jason Bateman was recently featured in OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY (I love these imaginative titles) and Rachel McAdams is coming off the success of Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE.
