Race Cast and Director Stephen Hopkins talks Olympics, and Jesse Owens!

RACE is the incredible story of Jesse Owens and his historic triumph at the 1936 Olympics. Not only did the athlete deal with rasicm from his own peers in the States, but he also fought to win against Adolf Hitler and the tyrants control over the Olympic Games. It is a powerful story, one that features a couple of terrific performances, as well as Stephen Hopkins inspired take on the events. If you know little about Owens, this is a great way to learn about a very important part of history.

Recently we had the pleasure of speaking with two of the film's stars, as well as Hopkins himself. During our conversation, both Stephan James and Jason Sudeikis talked about taking on these characters. I was impressed with both actors. The two have wonderful chemistry together, and it was great to see Sudeikis is a far more serious role than we are used to seeing him in. After speaking with the two fine talents, we had a discussion with Hopkins about creating the racing sequences and taking on this kind of bio pic. RACE is an inspired film with strong leading performances, and it is opening this Friday at a theater near you.
