Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A few weeks back we gave you guys the news that not only would there be a FEAR STREET film, but it would be based on an all-new story, and the film had secured a screenwriter in Kyle Killen (SCENIC ROUTE)

Today we bring you news from back ii the would of the books, as R. L. Stine took to Twitter to let us all know that not only will there be a new FEAR STREET book, but it is already written AND the new teen novella has a cover!

You can check out the new cover below. Personally, I wish they would stick to the old school designs for the books covers, but hell what do I know, I am an adult male and probably not the target audience they are shooting for with this new series.

FEAR STREET rundown (via Wikipedia)

Fear Street is a teenage horror fiction series written by American author R. L. Stine, starting in 1989. In 1995, a series of books inspired by the Fear Street series, called Ghosts of Fear Street, was created for younger readers and were more like the Goosebumps books in that they featured paranormal adversaries (ghosts, vampires, monsters, aliens, etc.) and sometimes had twist endings.

R. L. Stine stopped writing Fear Street after penning the Fear Street Seniors spin-off in 1999. In summer 2005, he brought Fear Street back with the three-part Fear Street Nights miniseries.

As of 2010, over 80 million copies of Fear Street have been sold.

R. L. Stine revived the book series in October 2014. In October 2015, it was reported a film based on the series was being developed.

Are kids still reading these books, I wonder?

I'll keep you up to date on any future movie news related to FEAR STREET. I think I'm done covering any news on the new book series from here on out. This a little too teenage girl for me.

The new FEAR STREET book hits shelves April 4th.
