Quibi drops the first hilarious clip from the Reno 911! revival

Given just how crazy things seem to be in the outside world at the moment, much of the population will likely be spending a hell of a lot more time at home than they typically do, which means that it's finally time to catch up on all those TV shows and movies which have been piling up. Thankfully, there are no shortage of movies and TV shows out there, with even more on the way, and one of my more anticipated comedies is Quibi's upcoming revival of Reno 911!.

The short-form streaming service has dropped the first clip from the Reno 911! revival, which finds that not much has changed for the men and women of the Reno Sheriff's Department. Series creators Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant, and Kerri Kenney-Silver have returned to pen the revival series, as well as reprise their roles of Lt. Jim Dangle, Deputy Travis Junior, and Deputy Trudy Wiegel. The rest of the cast includes Niecy Nash as Deputy Raineesha Williams, Wendi McLendon-Covey as Deputy Clementine Johnson, Cedric Yarbrough as Deputy S. Jones, Carlos Alazraqui as Deputy James Garcia, Ian Roberts as Sergeant Jack Declan, Joe Lo Truglio as Deputy Frank Rizzo, and Mary Birdsong as Deputy Cherisha Kimball. Filmed in the mockumentary style, Reno 911! originally ran on Comedy Central from 2003 to 2009 and was largely improvised and featured a large ensemble cast of comedians. "Reno 911! holds a special place in our hearts, and it will be a delight to get the original cast back together for ‘re-boot goofin.’ Hopefully Nick Swardson can still roller skate," Lennon said when the revival was first announced. "Quibi’s short format seems custom made for our show."

If you're wondering what the hell Quibi is, it's an upcoming short-form streaming service founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg which is looking to target younger viewers with premium content delivered in "quick bites" for viewing on the go. Each Quibi series will be around two to four hours in length, but will be divided into segments no longer than 10 minutes each. Quibi is slated to launch on April 6, 2020.
