Quibi content may be going to Roku, including Fifty States of Fright!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While the ill-fated mobile streaming app Quibi was (deservedly) derided for its bad UI and other ill-conceived concepts (such as not allowing screenshots or the ability to also stream on a desktop), it unfortunately did have some decent content on there. This includes some great horror shows, such as Fifty States of Fright, The Expecting, and The Stranger.

However, there is some hope that these shows will continue to remain viewable – despite the shutdown of Quibi – as the Wall Street Journal reports that Roku may in fact save Quibi's otherwise lost content. Here's what the report had to say:

Under the terms the companies have discussed, Roku would acquire rights to Quibi’s library…[though] financial terms of the proposed deal couldn’t be learned…[and] the deal talks could still fall apart.

Again, as the article notes, it's far from a done deal, but it's nice to know there is some effort being given to preserving that content. And, even if Roku passes, maybe another streaming service could swoop in? Either way, we'll keep you updated as this develops!

But what do you guys think? Were you a fan of any of Quibi's shows? If not, would you check them out if they were on a different app and/or service? Sound off below!
