A third film in the KILL BILL saga has been a possibility for many years now, and every so often Quentin Tarantino himself will bring up the subject, either to say that it may still happen or to say that he's moved on from the idea. During a recent conversation with Variety, the director admitted that KILL BILL 3 is still a possibility, but that he wasn't going to commit to anything.
I’m not committing to it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done, I am talking to Uma about it just a little bit. Some of the stuff that I’d written that never made it into the movie that maybe I could use.
Tarantino went on to say that he's now looking forward to catching up with the KILL BILL characters, but I'll believe it when I see it. As to what would transpire in the potential sequel, Tarantino himself previously suggested that the daughter of the assassin whom The Bride killed in KILL BILL: VOLUME I would set out on her own mission to avenge the death of her mother. Since Quentin Tarantino counts both parts of KILL BILL as one film, I'd imagine that he could make use of that loophole in order to make KILL BILL 3 without it counting towards his "final two films" before retirement.
