Everyone’s favorite fairytale-inspired feline is back! If you could use a smile on your face, you may want to check out the new Puss in Boots: The Last Wish trailer from Dreamworks. The animated sequel stars Antonio Banderas (Uncharted) as Puss in Boots, Salma Hayek (Eternals) as Kitty Softpaws, and Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) as their canine companion Perro.

In the hilarious trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, we find that Puss has extinguished eight of his nine lives and must decide how to make his last one count. Joined by Kitty Softpaws and Perro, Puss embarks on a bold new adventure where he’ll encounter frightening foes, like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a wolf wielding dual-sickles, and many more!

In addition to bringing some laughs, the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish trailer also boasts an updated animation style to the film. This time around, the environments look well-lit, meticulously designed, and better than ever before. The character models also look like they’ve just got back from the groomers, now that technology has supplied animators with better tools. This movie wasn’t on my radar at all, but now that I’ve seen this footage, I can’t wait to check it out.

The long-delayed feline frenzy has also added some new talent to the animated sequel with Florence Pugh (MidsommarBlack Widow), Olivia Colman (The Favourite), John Mulaney (Big Mouth), Da ‘Vine Joy Randolph (The Lost City), Anthony Mendez (Jane the Virgin), and Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death) joining the cast.
