We recently heard from director Ridley Scott that PROMETHEUS 2 would be xenomorph-less, a big blow to the fans of the ALIEN franchise who, disappointed with PROMETHEUS, held out hope the follow-up would bring the beloved toothy extraterrestrials to the forefront. So then, what can we expect from the sequel?
Naturally, no one is going to give up the goods on that front, but star Noomi Rapace, who played Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in the first film, has some ideas. In an interview with MTV UK (via JoBlo.com), Rapace lays out what’s going on in Shaw’s head:
I know that Elizabeth Shaw wants to go to paradise. I say that in the first one. I don’t wanna go back. She can’t go to Earth. There’s nothing left for her there really. She wants to go where they come from, those giants, those creatures. In her head that’s the dark paradise. What’s there? She wants answers. She wants to know. I feel like I’m sharing her curiosity but also her anger.
We all want answers, sister. And as to what kind of antagonists Elizabeth and David the synthetic human will face?
God, maybe? God or [the] devil. I don’t know. I don’t know where [Ridley Scott’s] gonna take us but I can’t wait to go there.”
GREEN LANTERN scribe Michael Green is currently working on the script, while Scott works on THE MARTIAN starring Matt Damon.
