Warner Bros. has announced release dates for several of its upcoming movies, and the studio has also removed a planned film from its schedule.
PROJECT XX, the sequel to the 2012 found footage party comedy, will be released on August 19, 2016. There's no word on who will direct or if the original cast will return, but PROJECT X co-writer Michael Bacall is penning the script.
The Gavin O'Connor-directed (WARRIOR, JANE GOT A GUN) action thriller THE ACCOUNTANT starring Ben Affleck, John Lithgow, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons and Jon Bernthal will be in theaters on January 29, 2016. The movie will open against Craig Gillespie's coast guard flick THE FINEST HOURS and KUNG FU PANDA 3, as well as a currently untitled horror film from New Line and Warner Bros that was originally scheduled to be released a week earlier on January 22.
Director Todd Phillips' ARMS & THE DUDES is set to open on March 11, 2016, where it will face off against Gary Ross' FREE STATE OF JONES, the historical drama CHRIST THE LORD and an untitled Bad Robot movie. Phillip's new film stars Jonah Hill, Miles Teller and Ana de Armas, and is based on Guy Lawson's Rolling Stone article about two arms dealers who land a government contract to supply weapons to American troops in Afghanistan.
And finally, an untitled special event Warner Bros. movie was slated to be in theaters on January 16, 2016, but now the studio has taken it off of its release schedule. Which forthcoming WB film are you most interested in seeing?
