Avengers assemble! Chris Evans (Captain America) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) are reuniting for a hot new project called Project Artemis. Not to be confused with 2018’s Hotel Artemis, this brand-new project is set to be directed and co-executive produced by Jason Bateman.

Apple acquired the Project Artemis package for an impressive $100+ million. While that might seem like a lot (because it is), don’t forget that Apple recently shelled out $200 million for Matthew Vaughn’s Argyle and the upcoming F1 racing film starring Brad Pitt. Plot details for Project Artemis are scarce, though we’ve heard it will revolve around a space race. Rose Gilroy (The Edge of Sleep) wrote the screenplay. Fun Fact: Rose is the daughter of writer-actor Dan Gilroy and actress René Russo.

In addition to her starring role, Johansson is producing with Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn via These Pictures. Bateman will produce through his Aggregate Films studio.

Before getting together for Project Artemis, Evans and Johansson were supposed to reteam for Ghosted. Unfortunately, Johansson’s schedule forced her to bow out of the project. On the upside, she was replaced by Evans’ Knives Out co-star Ana de Armas. Johansson has another project lined up with Apple called Bride. Johansson will star as well as produce for Oscar-winning director Sebastián Lelio. Bride is currently in development, with more casting news expected to walk down the aisle soon.

Are you excited to hear more about Jason Bateman’s Project Artemis? Do you think Evans or Johansson will ever reprise their Marvel roles for a future project? Let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’ll bring you more news about Project Artemis as it continues to take shape.
