Production designer co-writing book about Nightmare on Elm Street 4

As production designer on A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER, Mick Strawn knows there are stories about the making of the film that have never been told before. With the 30th anniversary of DREAM MASTER's release coming up this August, Strawn is now endeavoring to bring those untold stories to light with the help of author Blake Best.

Strawn and Best have begun working on a book titled BEHIND THE SCREAMS: A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4 REVEALED, which will

contain tales from the making of the film that have never been shared with the public.

The plan is, of course, to release the book this August.

A film that spoke directly to the hearts and minds of the first MTV generation, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER was a huge success at the box office – for a long time it was the most successful film of the franchise, and when you adjust its $49 million haul (those are 1988 dollars) for inflation it's still the second best in the series. The only movie to feature horror icon Freddy Krueger that has made more money is 2003's FREDDY VS. JASON. (If you don't adjust for inflation, the 2010 remake pushes THE DREAM MASTER into the #3 spot – but when you do adjust, the remake is way down there at #6.)

THE DREAM MASTER may not be the best NIGHTMARE, but it is highly entertaining – I would even say it's the most entertaining of the bunch. I'm very interested in hearing more about the making of it and its rushed production.

We'll keep you updated on the progress of BEHIND THE SCREAMS: NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4 REVEALED as Strawn and Best to continue to put it together.
