Prepare to draw First Blood for a Rambo marathon at the Alamo Drafthouse

Sylvester Stallone's long-running action franchise may soon be coming to an end with RAMBO: LAST BLOOD, but that doesn't mean that audiences can't still relive the guts and glory of each and every film in the series all at once! The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema announced today that they will be running an explosive five-film marathon of every RAMBO film at twenty-three locations across the country.

Beginning with the surprisingly empathetic story of a wandering Vietnam War veteran in FIRST BLOOD (1982), the franchise ramped up the action with FIRST BLOOD: PART II (1985) and RAMBO III (1988), which took us to the jungles of Vietnam and the deserts of Afghanistan. From there, Rambo attempted to live his life in peace in RAMBO (2008), before being drawn back into battle helping a group of missionaries. The upcoming RAMBO: LAST BLOOD finds the character back home in America, but once again, the war finds him. "This marathon is for the ultimate Rambo fan," says Alamo Drafthouse Programmer Cristina Cacioppo in a statement. "And there’ll be so much to see – the thoughtful drama of FIRST BLOOD, the action spectacle of the middle installments, and finally, how it comes to an end in LAST BLOOD." Directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay by Matthew Cirulnick and Sylvester Stallone, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD finds Rambo "confronting his past and unearthing his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission and, quite likely, the last chapter of the legendary series." The film will hit theaters on September 20th.
