For the last few months, we’ve been getting little teases for Disney’s upcoming remake of ALADDIN, with a few glimpses at the dessert, the lamp, the characters – and then BOOM! – big ol’ look at blue Will Smith as Genie, proving this movie is meant to terrify children as much as dazzle them (but mostly terrify). But no matter, there’s more to this movie than off-putting glimpses at Smith’s blue wish-granter, and in the new, full trailer for the movie, we get the most complete picture yet at Guy Ritchie’s movie, including at the musical numbers, the carpet-riding adventure, the fiendish Jafar and wow he really is blue isn't he. Like, they went all out on him.

So, while it's easy to poke fun at the blueness of Smith's Genie the full trailer paints a much broader picture of Ritchie's movie, which is full of lavish production values, humor and lots of Smith looking like, well, himself. Okay, those glimpses of him in human form are meshed in between scenes of his Genie doing some crazy things with his powers that forever change how you look at the actor, but still. For the most part some great elements are showcased, and then there's Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and though we can't get a great sense of the chemistry here, they seem to really bring it during that magic carpet scene, a moment which guarantees this movie's $100+ million opening, for sure.
The movie stars Massoud as the title hero, Aladdin, Scott as the princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as The Sultan, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders and more.
