Prepare for ’80s slasher homage Camp Killer with a trailer and clip

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Back in June, we brought you word of CAMP KILLER, an '80s slasher homage from the team behind the cult sensation CHAINSAW SALLY. Written and directed by Shawn Jones, who contributed to the very cool WNUF HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, the film stars CHAINSAW SALLY writer/director JimmyO Burril, Sally herself April Monique Burril, FRIDAY THE 13TH's Ari Lehman, Melissa O'Brien, and James Watkins.

Since we last reported on CAMP KILLER, filming has been completed, and the movie is now deep into the post-production process. As he works on putting the finishing touches on it, Jones has also shared a pair of promotional videos, a trailer and a clip, to give a look at what CAMP KILLER has in store for viewers.

Crafted as if it were the final installment in a long-running franchise, this slasher tribute is awesomely described as "FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI meets MY DINNER WITH ANDRE" and tells the following story:

JimmyO Burril is the sheriff of the town plagued by an unstoppable killer (James Watkins).  As they meet up one last time, a pair of survivors (one played by April Monique Burril) complicate matters for the worse.  Who will be left standing and what will remain of their sanity?

The trailer and the clip, which focuses on a confrontation between a vengeful survivor, the sheriff, and the killer, can both be enjoyed below. The clip almost appears to be a bit too spoilery, but I'll trust that Jones isn't giving away too much in those 56 seconds.

I'm totally on board for CAMP KILLER. With a description like "FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI meets MY DINNER WITH ANDRE", how could I not be? I've got my copy locked down and I'm very much looking forward to receiving it.
