Okay, let's go ahead and get this out there right off the bat. I'm a bad PREACHER fan. I'm into the comics but I've been slacking on my viewing of the TV series. But I plan to catch up soon. And speaking of which, today we have word that AMC has renewed the TV series for a fourth season.
In a statement, David Madden, president of programming for AMC Networks, said:
Preacher is a show unlike any other on television. A passionate base of fans found their way to Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy and have followed along with their adventures, at times indescribable adventures, for three seasons. We are thankful to our partners at Sony and to Seth, Evan and Sam for everything they have brought to this series, which we are pleased to renew for a fourth season. Like the superfans of Preacher, we can’t wait to see where this journey leads next.
Based upon Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion's comic-series, PREACHER follows:
A West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), who is inhabited by the renegade spawn of an angel and demon and gains the power to control people with just a word. The series’ second season premieres this summer and follows Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God, dealing with issues both worldly and otherworldly along the way.
PREACHER comes to us from executive producers Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, and stars Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Ian Colletti, Graham McTavish, Julie Ann Emery, Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens, Lucy Griffiths, and W. Earl Brown. They were joined in season three by Betty Buckley (SPLIT) Colin Cunningham (Blood Drive, Falling Skies), Jeremy Childs (The Last Castle, Nashville), and Liz McGeever (Nashville).
