J.J. Abrams' production company Bad Robot and Paramount released a trailer for the World War II horror film OVERLORD last month and I was instantly hooked. Killer Nazi zombies on a (relatively) major budget? I'm there! And if the film's trailer got you as pumped for the upcoming film as it did for me, then you'll be excited to check out the flick's poster which we have for your viewing pleasure this afternoon.
It's red as all sh*t, but like the poster for 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, and/or DAYBREAKERS, it works. Hell, the poster could have featured Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and a cruise ship filled with talking nazi zombie animals and I still would have been there opening night – false advertising be damned! Check out the poster yourself below and let us know what you think!
Directed by Julius Avery from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Mark L. Smith, OVERLORD centers on
two paratroopers who are caught behind enemy lines after their plane crashes on a mission to destroy a German Radio Tower in a small town outside of Normandy during the D-Day invasion. After reaching their target, the two paratroopers come to realize that besides fighting off Nazi soldiers, they also must combat against supernatural forces that are a result of a secret Nazi experiment.
Wyatt Russell, Bokeem Woodbine, Jovan Adepo, Jacob Anderson, Dominic Applewhite, Pilou Asbaek, Iain de Caestecker, John Magaro, and Mathilde Ollivier star. The film is set to be released in theatres and IMAX on November 9th.
