Saban Films and Roadside Attractions will be releasing Director Craig William Macneill’s (THE BOY, CHANNEL ZERO: CANDLE COVE) new horror memoir based on the notorious Lizzie Borden in theaters this September. And today we have the flick’s poster for you to check out.
Like I said in last week’s post where we shared the film’s trailer (which you can check out again below) it’s not like we really need yet another adaptation of this famous story, but with Chloë Sevigny starring as Lizzie Borden, I’m intrigued. Kristen Stewart playing Borden’s housemaid Bridget Sullivan is a bit less interesting to me, but Stewart was good in PERSONAL SHOPPER so why not give her another chance, right?
The film is called LIZZIE and it’s based on the infamous true story. Academy Award nominee Sevigny stars as:
Lizzie Borden, the notorious woman at the heart of one of the most enduring mysteries in American history. After a lifetime of loneliness, Lizzie finds a kindred spirit in housemaid Bridget Sullivan (Kristen Stewart) and their secret intimacy sparks an unthinkable act. Director Craig William Macneill (The Boy (2015), “Channel Zero: Candle Cove”) explores the days leading up to the savage crimes in a dark tale of repression, exploitation and thwarted dreams.
Sevigny and Stewart are joined in the film by Jamey Sheridan, Fiona Shaw (HARRY POTTER), Kim Dickens (FEAR THE WALKING DEAD), Denis O’Hare (AMERICAN HORROR STORY), and Jeff Perry. Saban Films and Roadside Attractions will release LIZZIE in theaters September 14, 2018.
