Not many people outisde of Canada have anything invested in the work of cult director Bruce McDonald, but the director of HARDCORE LOGO and THE TRACY FRAGMENTS has time and time again proven that he’s an exciting cinematic talent mired in the obscurity of a low profile industry. His latest film PONTYPOOL takes place in a basement radio station in the town of Pontypool, Ontario, where the local shock jock starts getting disturbing calls from outside warning him that something’s gone terribly wrong with the people of the quiet town. McDonald’s first forray into full blown horror may finally be the film that signals his arrival to the rest of the world. Then again, maybe not, eh?
