We're now just a mere month away from the release of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, the final film of Disney's Sequel Trilogy which also claims to serve as the culmination of the entire nine-film Skywalker saga. That will be no small feat if director J.J. Abrams is able to pull it off, but in the meantime, we'll have to make due with the variety of photos, trailers, and posters which will be released during this final stretch.
The latest poster for STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER comes to us from Dolby Cinema and features Poe Dameron (or at least I assume it's him, as that's his orange X-Wing) facing off against a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers. As you can see, they have an added racing stripe, which I feel is pretty sharp.
As I mentioned, STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be bringing the entire franchise to a close, and that means the return of certain elements of the Original Trilogy, including the wreckage of the second Death Star. "It felt like going into the haunted house, the place that you have to go to," Abrams told Entertainment Weekly regarding bringing back the space station. "This is a story of people having to grapple with the burden the prior generation dumps on those that follow. So literally returning to this wreck of the past and having to fight it out felt like an obvious metaphor, but also felt incredibly cinematic."
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
