Pitt, DiCaprio are front and center in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood poster

One of the most anticipated movies of the year involves no superheroes or Jedi, but rather Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mr. Quentin Tarantino in their new movie ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. The acting duo is looking ready to take on the world of show business in the new poster for the movie, which finds front and center in front of the famed Hollywood sign and near a sleek car that screams 1969 – if the clothes didn’t do that enough already.

There’s not much else to the poster, and although the movie features an impressive cast that also includes Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Emilie Hirsch, Bruce Dern, Damian Lewis, Scoot McNairy, Dakota Fanning, Lena Dunham and the late Luke Perry all it uses to advertise the movie are the two big stars you see. Sure they may look a bit Photoshopped, but look at the two side-by-side and just try to tell me you aren't going to watch this movie opening weekend.

The movie centers on DiCaprio's Rick Dalton, a once famous TV star, and Pitt's Cliff Booth, his stunt double, as the two traverse Hollywood at the end of the 60s and try to take one last big crack at making it famous. This is during a time of turbulence in California, and at a time that saw the murder of Sharon Tate (Robbie), an actress and neighbor of Dalton, at the hands of the Manson Family.  Before the poster drop we did get a bevy of hi-res photos of the characters, including of Robbie's Tate and DiCaprio's character in action as a daring TV star.

Tarantino has revealed all that much about the movie, but has spoken about the dynamic between Pitt and DiCaprio's character, saying they were the "most exciting star dynamic duo since Robert Redford and Paul Newman."

This came out of CinemaCon last year, and in that presentation the director said this was his closest movie in style to that of PULP FICTION, saying it has a few lead characters with tons of supporting characters in the mix.

"This is probably the closest to PULP FICTION I've done, as opposed to a movie that really is a Los Angeles movie and it deals with a couple of lead characters, but a lot of wild supporting characters that kind of make a blanket throughout the town."

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD hits theaters July 26.
