Philip Seymour Hoffman reflects on happiness in moving animated short

When I first heard that Philip Seymour Hoffman had passed away I was sitting on my couch and watching the report on TV. From there, I turned to my movie shelf and felt the lump in my throat grow as I recognized each and every memory the great actor was leaving for us. Thankfully he will continue to appear on screen in a number of projects he had been working on.

Today however, I would like to bring your attention to a short animated piece. Using a conversation with Simon Critchley recorded on December 22, 2012 at the Rubin Museum of Art, a team at PBS has assembled an animated short featuring the late actors views on life, pleasure, family and above all else, happiness. Hoffman often spoke with such wisdom and foresight which might make this all the more poignant and hard to watch for some.
