One of the highlights of Paul Thomas Anderson’s gorgeous PHANTOM THREAD is the breakout performance of Vicky Krieps, who holds her own against Daniel Day-Lewis in every one of their scenes together. Krieps has been in the business for a while now – she has 40 acting credits according to IMDb – but PHANTOM THREAD is surely the film that is making the rest of the world take notice of her.
Fede Alvarez has certainly taken notice. The DON’T BREATHE helmer has cast Krieps in his new movie, THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB, Sony’s revamped sequel to David Fincher’s GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO.
Details on who Krieps will be playing are unknown at the time. The actress joins Claire Foy, who is playing Lisbeth Salander, Sverrir Gudnason, who will be playing Mikael Blomquist, Claes Bang as one of the antagonists, Sylvia Hoeks as Lisbeth’s evil twin, Cameron Britton as a computer expert Lisbeth reaches out to when she needs assistance, and Lakeith Stanfield as an NSA agent.
