Peter Mullan to take on Nessie in The Loch

It was just over one year ago that we shared the news that THE WOMAN IN BLACK director James Watkins was teaming with Simon Duric to pen a thriller about ol' Nessie, a.k.a. the Loch Ness Monster, titled THE LOCH for Altitude Entertainment, with Duric set to make his feature directorial debut. Today we have the first bit of casting news for the upcoming character-driven horror thriller with Screen Daily dropping the news that SESSION 9 and TYRANNOSAUR star Peter Mullan has signed on to lead the cast. The badass Peter Mullan versus Nessie? My money's on Mullan!

Set to begin filming later this year, THE LOCH tells the story of…

a family hiding their own secrets who encounter dark forces on a weekend holiday near Loch Ness.

Although we've seen numerous films that took on the legend of Loch Ness, we've yet to be given the 'definitive' Loch Ness Monster film. Most have been cheesy fun, but not very memorable. Let's hope THE LOCH changes that.
