A trio of excellent actors have been added to the cast of Martin McDonagh's THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI. The Wrap has learned that Peter Dinklage, John Hawkes and MANCHESTER BY THE SEA actor Lucas Hedges will star alongside Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Abbie Cornish and Caleb Landry Jones in McDonagh's new movie.
The film will tell the story of a "mother (McDormand) whose daughter was raped and murdered. Furious that the police in Ebbing, Missouri, haven’t caught the killer, she pays for three local billboards lambasting law enforcement officials and goading them into action."
Dinklage will portray a local who has a crush on McDormand's character, while Hawkes will play her ex-husband. Hedges has been cast as McDormand's son, and Harrelson will play the sheriff, with Rockwell as his hot-headed protégé. As for Cornish and Landry Jones, they'll be playing (respectively) Harrelson's wife and the billboard salesman.
Filming for THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI is set to begin this month for a likely 2017 release.
